The minute I got home, Jenn put me on the ground behind the garage and said go potty. I think that means curl up and sleep, so I tried. Then she picked me up and took me in the house. Since no one gave me a chance to pee, I did it on the carpet.

I laid in bed with Jenn and took a nap while she watched TV. My new blanket is made of fluffy Sherpa fleece and Jenn has a body pillow shaped like a giant U. I curled up and felt safe. After I rested from my trip, I ate dinner, went to the bathroom on a piece of newspaper that was quickly shoved under me, then dove into my crate for more rest.

I went to the vet today and everyone said I'm a Pyr. The woman at the desk has a Pyr named China and was especially excited to see me. A lot of girls took turns hugging me and the vet said I'm healthy and weigh 9.4 lbs. I can't wait to go back next week, even if they make me get shots.

I now have a playpen in the yard. I'm learning to use the bathroom outside and when I do, I'm given a small piece of cheese for a snack.

Actually this new home seems pretty sweet. My room stays really cool, which I love. I have a giant fleece bone pillow to rest my muzzle against, a puppy nylabone and a big rubber ball that's hollow in the middle. Jenn put some of my food inside and when I rolled the ball, food fell out and I ate it. I had to think about how to do it. I like using my head to figure things out. My tail curled up into a donut shape, which I'm told means I"m excited and happy.

Today my cousin Amelia might come and play with me!

Did I mention that my new home is SWEEEEEET! I explored more yard today. I was a little worried about leaving my comfort zone, but Jenn rolled my ball far away to the back yard. I curled my tail into a "bravery donut" and charged! I had to step up to the concrete walk around the pool and step back down into the grass. I'm getting really good at navigating the world.

I played outside a lot today and after lunch we played for almost two hours! I got scared when the mailman pulled up into the driveway. I whimpered, so Jenn picked me up and held me while he gave her packages. Next time I will be ready for him.

Today I went to the hospital with Jenn. I visited with my fairy Godmothers and showed them my happy donut tail. The office girls welcomed me and I got petted by the patients, too. One of the ladies said I look like a stuffed animal!!! It didn't take long to overheat, so Jenn took me to the yard and I cooled off in the grass until the doctor finished his charting. He petted me and liked me a lot. The minute I got home, I took a drink of water and jumped into my crate. It was a good day except for the car ride there. I've only been in the car a few times and I was worried it meant my life would change again. But it was just like last time, we went to one place then right back home in an hour.

Today I learned where my name comes from. When Jenn was younger she wrote stories about me. Many of the people in her story spoke French and they called me "Elle" , which just means I'm a girl. I was a gift and that is all I'm allowed to know because I'm much to young to be told the whole story. But anyway, the main thing is I'm almost famous!

Gramma is exhausting me. My Jenn works all day and gramma takes me outside to play for at least an hour before each meal.I can't wait to jump into my crate and relax. Every morning Jenn gives me my vitamin supplement broken in four pieces and covered with cheese. I LOVE IT!

No matter what, I prefer peeing in the house. Outside is where I play and I wouldn't want to step in it!!!

16 October, 2009

Today I just had to bark. Jenn has an electronic nail file and she let me lick, bite and sniff it. She turned it on and it wasn't very noisy but I still got down on my front paws and had a fit. My tail was in a donut shape the whole time. Her people nail file isn't strong enough for me so I'm getting my own.

17 October, 2009

My cousins came to play with me! We played in the yard for a long time and I chased them. Breanna brought me two new toys - a nubby Nylabone and a blue and green rope. I was so excited I peed every 20 minutes!

18 October, 2009

I got on the scale with Breanna and it looks like I weigh 12.5 lbs. We'll find out how accurate that is when I go to the vet. I think I am much bigger than my people realize.

I weighed 13.6 at the vet's office. He gave me a shot, which I hardly noticed, but I didn't like it when he turned me on my back to look at my belly. I cried, because I only let my family pet my belly. Then he clipped my nails, which I didn't care for either. Add it all up with the car ride and it was a crappy day until I got back home. Greg and Jenn played with me in the yard for a long time. Greg mowed the lawn and my feet were all green.
