Black Widow

  • Production No. 2006
  • Original air date: February 28, 1996

Kermit makes a complete ass of himself over a Victoria's Secret lingerie model with the mumps. Simms makes a complete ass of herself when she takes Kermit back in the end even though he treated her like pond scum. Kristin Lehman joins the cast as Jordan McGuire, the girl Pita fans kill off most in their fan fic.

Episode Highlight: Caine shows emotion when the Ancient is kidnapped...an Emmy moment!

Episode Lowlight: Sect leader John Latrodect (John Schneider of "Dukes of Hazzard" fame) mentions in passing that Fu City is "in the midwest." Uh huh...now, what about that Niagara Falls thing from "Manhunt"? <G>

Almost interesting acting facts: Kristen Minter, Emma the Mump Lady, had apparently just had all her wisdom teeth extracted right before shooting started on this episode, thus accounting for the chipmunk cheeks. Does anybody have a copy of "Home Alone" lying around? Minter played the role of "Heather" in that movie. It appears that what she said (as Emma) about being a California girl was true...she teaches Spinning at Body and Soul in West Hollywood three times a week. <G>

Almost interesting spider facts: The name Latrodect is derived from the scientific name for widow spiders, all of which are Genus Latrodectus. Even though Latrodect tells Caine black widow spiders are quite prevalent in the western states and not very common in large midwestern cities, I present to you the following: "The black widow’s range is from Massachusetts to Florida and west to California, Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas. Although they can be found in almost every state (and some portions of Canada), this spider is most common in the Southern locales of the United States." Too bad the show's researcher's didn't know how to use an encyclopedia!

Blooper Alert: Kristin Lehman's name is misspelled "Leham" in the opening credits!
