Circle of Light:

  • Production Number 2001
  • Original Air Date: February 14, 1996

Mary Margaret finally gets some...of Caine's chi (<G>) after she is shot during a robbery while Pita is out searching for a pay phone to report in to the 101st Precinct even though he is on vacation with Skalany in Bloomington, IL.

Almost interesting facts: Keith Szarabajka (Matt Christianson) has worked with Michael Sloan before, playing semi-regular Micky Kostmayer in "The Equalizer". He has also made at least one movie with David Carradine, "The Misfit Brigade," a kind of German Dirty Dozen. It's out of print now but I see it for sale on eBay all the time <G>

Continuity error: That treehouse in the thick of the forest looks like it's at least 100 feet high when Caine is carrying Matt up on his back. But in a later shot, you can see that it's maybe 10 feet up if that.

Incredibly trivial fact: This is only the second episode where they actually show state-identifiable license plates. The first one was "Enter the Tiger" in the flashback where Pita remembers leaving the Tempw to go to the orphange and you can see the California license plates when he is being driven away. Illinois license plates are visible in "Circle of Light". I am guessing they decided that this episode should be set in Illinois after they realized they could just borrow a couple of license plates from the set of "Due South." <G>

    Episode Highlight: That gorgeous KITCHEN!!

Episode Lowlight: Five carloads of armed and angry rogue cops start shooting at Christianson -- who takes a dive behind a flower pot for protection against the hail of bullets. Even worse...I've seen some outtakes from this part and Szarabajka has to take that dive over and over again about 10 times before he actually manages to land behind the flower pot. Reality check, please! <G>
