Demons:

  • Production Number 1011
  • Original Air Date: October 4, 1995

In spite of its reputation for being haunted ever since a double murder and suicide on the premises 12 years earlier, Kermit's slightly dim-witted sister Marilyn decides to buy a house called The Gables which doesn't appear to have even one li'l gable anywhere on it. Oh well, at least Lo Si gets a really cool set of steak knives out of the deal.

Helpful Tips for the Purchase of Haunted Real Estate: In case any of you have been thinking of buying a haunted house lately, listed below are some commonsense suggestions to help you survive the experience. Oh, if Marilyn had only had the benefit of this knowledge! <G>

(Thanks to Li Ming for passing along some "joke of the day" materials that I adapted for use here; and thanks also to SilverLeaf for sending it back to me after I lost it!)

  • If you find that your house has been built on or near a cemetery, was once a church used for black masses, had previous inhabitants who went mad or committed suicide or died in some horrible fashion, or had inhabitants who performed necrophilia or satanic practices, you may find it prudent to move away immediately.
  • Do not search the basement, especially if the power has just gone out.
  • As a general rule, don't open any door that stands between you and the entrance to Hell.
  • Do not keep all your sharpened kitchen knives in one of those wooden block thingies on your work-surface.
  • Anniversary nights of executions, horrible murders or terrifying rituals should be viewed with extreme caution. Especially on the exact spot where the event took place.
  • Take heed of all warnings from animals and small, slightly psychotic children. They usually know more than you do.

Episode Highlight: Pita and Caine unknowingly pass each other on the way into and out of the kitchen, each in a different "time zone". This three-second scene is one of my favorites in the entire series!

Episode Lowlight: The Battle of Bull Shit. Anyone reading this ever see an episode of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea called "The Terrible Toys"? KF:TLC stole the concept with impugnity knowing full well that Irwin Allen Enterprises would be mortified to admit to ever having come up with the idea originally.

Blooper Alert: Pita asks Jason, "What are you doing here?" AFTER Jason says, "I was told to call you for dinner."

Continuity error: In the scene where Caine helps Pita fight the demons coming out of the door: the background behind Caine in the close-ups is completely different than the background in the far away shots.

Prop Alert: The cabinet that Caine and Pita go through to get to the past is the same cabinet in which Lo Si keeps the Sword of Kwai Chang, and it was at the Tempw in California, too. This cabinet REALLY gets around!

Quote to remember: "Only I could find the gateway to Hell."
