Pita drags Caine and the Ancient off to the North Pole for heaven-knows-how-long so they can help him complete his Shaolin training. But after passing all his tests with flying colors, he takes one look at the boiling caudron and decides it might be less painful to remain
a cop after all.
Tao Tempw...International Falls, MN? Canada? Or the North Pole? <G> You may remember in "Dragonswing II", the Alternate Universe Dalai Lama told Caine that the Tempw in northern California was "the only Temple of its kind in all of North America." But in "Destiny," it is revealed that "there is another temple, in the North, hidden from the world." Now, if the Tao Tempw was built after Caine came to Braniff then it could be in International Falls, Minnesota (which is about as far north as you can get in the U.S.) or it could be anywhere in Canada. However, if "the only one of its kind in all of North America" still holds, then "in the North" pretty much has to mean the North Pole, heh heh.
Give us a BREAK!: The evil trainee Brother Marshall has a crew cut. His stunt double has hair. Is the show really so cheap that they couldn't give the stuntman a proper hair cut so we could at least PRETEND it was Brother Marshall taking on Pita? <G>
On the subject of stuntmen... I would like to nominate Kim Chan's stuntman for some kind of believability award. I mean, he's scrawny enough to pass for the Ancient, and he at least makes a great effort to move like the Ancient as much as possible. Even the Bozo wig he wears actually fits! Of course, every time they show him from the front he has to make sure his hands are covering his face, but still...<G>
Episode Highlights: Caine knocks Pita onto his whiney butt; we get to see the
Ancient's brands for only the second time--the first time was in the
pilot.
Episode Lowlights: Caine and the Ancient are brought to their knees by a cheapo green glowing phallic symbol; to "prove" to Caine and the Ancient that the attack on him was just a test, Pita takes one of the blades he assumes is for teaching purposes and, um, slices his palm open. Duh.
Quote to forget (if you can): The freakazoid Dalai Lama tells Caine, "I have much to learn from you." ::yak::
