Enter the Tiger: Production Number 187578 Original Air Date: November 23, 1994 Pita tells some really, really bad jokes. The Ancient gets a microwave. Caine speaks two whole words of Chinese in a row! We never do get to hear the funniest joke in all China. Oh, and Caine is chosen to escort a Chinese freedom-fighter to the lair of the elusive Bon Bon Hai, who apparently rents space from Susan Osborne (see "Magic Trick"). Almost interesting facts: This episode, Bon Bon Hai's second appearance, was written to have been his first (once again, you can tell by the production numbers). Thus the name, "Enter the Tiger" (besides ripping off the title of one of the greatest martial arts films known to man, of course). Gigi De Leon, who in this episode plays Bon Bon Hai's daughter Tia Lang, was previously seen in "The Lacquered Box" as Rene, the flower vendor. Continuity has never been our long suit: You may remember that in the pilot, Pita said that Ping Hai only turned him over to the orphanage because the old monk became too sick to take care of him any longer...but in this flashback, an extremely robust-looking Ping Hai turns Pita over to the state-run orphanage while all the other monks look benignly on. Did you notice: The hallway in the scene where Pita, Huan and Caine go to meet with Bon Bon Hai? No? Not even after I mentioned it last week in "Magic Trick"? Tsk.
