Original Air Date: October 9, 1996
Kwai Chang Caine, Pita and Kermit become prisoners of a confused
terrorist, who appears to be laboring under the delusion that the state
of Vermont is somehow the perfect cover for a hotbed of terrorist
activity.
Coolest Guest Star EVER: John Saxon, from "Enter the Dragon,"
the greatest martial arts movie ever made, plays the terrorist leader
Straker.
Almost interesting facts: Lori Hallier, Kimberly St. Claire in
this episode, also played Marilyn Blake (yes, Blake! <G>), the
mayor's assistant in the pilot episode. I think they hired her whenever
they needed someone who was willing to strip for the camera -- remember
the ludicrous scene in the pilot when she strips down to nothing but the
tatoo on her butt and necks with Tan, who is clad in a suit and tie, and
sunglasses to boot? Charles Powell (evil lil bro Kyle in "The
Gunfighters") appears here as Jim Hellstrom, the young Air Force officer
who ultimately turns out to be Kermit's son who looks exactly nothing
like him.
Food-related issues: I could be wrong about this, but with the
exeption of nibbling on his herbal mixtures, I think this is the first
time we have ever seen Caine eat anything normal (an orange slice) on
camera before! Also, Kermit somehow manages to gain weight on the humble
but nourishing prison fare offered by the terrorists. <G>
