Plague:

  • Production Number 1001
  • Original Air Date: February 1, 1995

The residents of Sloanville display more mental unbalance than usual when a thermal inversion layer traps a choking cloud of pesticides over their fair city in the middle of a month-long drought coupled with temperatures over 100 degrees. What else could go wrong, you ask? How about the appearance of a crazed mercenary computer expert with a scientific/medical background, who picks the exact same time to release poison fumes into the air by means of a remote electronic signal sent to devices inserted into specially-altered air conditioning units?

Humane Society completely gives up on KF:TLC! Caine plays the flute for some rats. Between this scene and the intermittent torture of ponds full of innocent koi in several other episodes, this show can never earn the right to use the standard Humane Society disclaimer that no animals were harmed during filming!

It's About Time: Finally giving vent to her true feelings, Kelly Blaine Blake takes a knife to Pita.

Episode Highlight: Kermit plays hopscotch on the front steps of the 101st.

Episode Lowlight: The production people appear to have borrowed footage of a crop-duster plane from the film archives of "Petticoat Junction" for the not-so-grand finale.
