Redemption, Part 1:
Production Number 187462
Original Air Date: November 24, 1993
Pita is crushed when Caine reveals that he actually came to Fu City looking
for the future Emperor of China. I don't know what
Pita expected, considering that he and Caine each thought the other was
dead, but what the heck, his wounded-puppy routine
killed a good 5 minutes of air time, and since this is a two-part episode
with enough plot for maybe one and a half parts, there's
a heck of a lot of air time to kill!
Continuity error: Once aboard the "assassin ship," Caine and Lo
Si split up. They are both wearing coats. Next time we see
The Ancient, he is not wearing a coat. I suppose he stopped to hang it up tidily
in a closet somewhere along the way .
Redemption, Part 2:
Production Number 187462
Original Air Date: December 1, 1993
With Sing Ling safely on the throne and the Caine family honor redeemed,
Kwai Chang makes the first of many unsuccessful
attempts to get away from his whiny offspring. Pita and the Ancient walk off
into the sunset together.
Revelation: The mystery of why Cheryl was always hanging around
is solved (for this season, at least <G>) when we learn that
the homeless "waif" was actually a deep undercover assassin for hire!! Having
ingratiated herself into Kwai Chang Caine's life,
she was actually hanging around waiting for Caine to find the young
Emperor-to-be, that was it! It wasn't just that David Carradine was giving his daughter
Calista something to do, and aren't we ashamed of ourselves for thinking any such thing!
