Return of the Shadow Assassin: Beaten by Caine in their first-season battle, the Shadow Assassin returns, bringing with him his Shadow Assassin Master...sort of like asking your big brother to beat up on the bully who bested you on the playground, I guess <G> By killing off enough of Pita's friends and acquaintances, the Shadow Assassins draw an obviously reluctant Kwai Chang Caine back to Fu City. And just where has he been these past 6 months, you wonder? "Walking...learning..." he tells his son. Judging from his hugely-expanded girth, I would guess he was walking from pizza parlor to pizza parlor, learning recipe after recipe! Meanwhile, Pita's new girlfriend, semi-regular Kelly Blaine (later Blake <LOL>) is introduced, and it is clear from the beginning that they are not a match made in Shambhala. This may be the worst-edited episode in all of Fu-dom. 1) We see night exterior stock footage of the brownstone where The Ancient lives. Inside, Caine is talking to Lo Si. Suddenly it is day, and Caine is in the street talking to the Shadow Assassin Master. Then he is back with The Ancient, this time in that odd limbo world where Lo Si trained Caine in "The Shadow Assassin," Finally they are again inside The Ancient's apartment. Huh? 2) In the cave, Lo Si comes to lead Pita and Kelly out of the "force field" they were trapped in. Pita tells Kelly and Lo Si to stay where they are and goes wandering off for no apparent reason. When he returns, Lo Si is lying unconscious on the floor of the cave and the Shadow Assassin is standing there with an arm around Kelly's throat. Now, where did Pita go, anyway? And how did "Old Ping Merlin" get himself knocked out? Still, one consolation to The Ancient is that from then on, he gets to hold hands with Kelly...oh, the rigors of acting! <LOL> Quote to remember: It is not wise to mess with Merlin, heh heh heh heh Almost interesting fact: Krista Bridges, who plays Sally (the
Dry-Cleaning Chick killed by the junior Shadow Assassin while his master beams
with pride) returns for the fourth season as Lorraine Larsen, wife of the drug
dealer Kermit targets for death in "Storm Warning."
