(tws)- Ask Jennifer Smith of Kokomo, Indiana about her furby collection. Go ahead, ask. She could talk about it all day long.
"Basically, I've got two of them. One is a regular furby, the other is a furby baby. I picked up the furby baby for $8 on a clearance shelf at KB*Toys. I picked her out because she was unusual and the only one like her I've seen. She is baby pink and covered with that silver glitter stuff that's become popular lately. I thought she was pretty cool. I decided to name her Kim Chan because Kim can be a girl's name or a guy's. Also, the actor named Kim Chan is pretty cool, and I figured if I named my baby furby after him, then templelooters.com would interview me." Jennifer's regular furby, which is white with black patches, is named Baby Old Ping Hai. "Yeah, the chick who owns this site uses the name Old Ping Hai on the internet, because she digs Kim Chan and he used that name once in a tv show. So I named my furby after her, which means my furby is indirectly named after him." |

Jennifer actually has quite a history of naming stuffed toys. "When I was little, I had a big stuffed samoyed dog and a little stuffed floppy-eared white dog. I named them Belle and Poochie after the dogs on the cartoon Belle and Sebastian that Nickelodeon used to show in the early 80's. Man, do I wish I had taped that show; it was awesome."
